Entrepreneurial Internship Program

Employees jumping in air

The Summer 2012 Entrepreneurial Internship Program - EIP is a program through which NOCHE will help Northeast Ohio entrepreneurial companies develop new or enhance existing internship programs - and facilitate the connection to talented college students through the NEOintern database.

With funding provided by the Burton D. Morgan Foundation, the program subsidizes any type of internship at entrepreneurial companies. Whether you need help designing a website, building a product, or monitoring sales data, this program will help your business grow. By participating in EIP, entrepreneurial companies will get:

  • A reimbursement of 50% of each intern's wages up to $500 (maximum three interns per company),
  • One FREE "Maximize Your ROI: Return On Intern" internship management workshop for employers,
  • Access to talented college students*, and
  • Support from NOCHE, including access to NEOintern.net, its students, and their resumes.

*Students must be an Ohio resident or enrolled at an Ohio college or university. Students may be from any major.

Why Should Entrepreneurs Hire Interns?

Internships will help your company . . .

  • Get affordable, innovative input to your business".

  • Increase productivity. Interns allow your full-time employees to spend more time on high value projects.

  • Complete special projects which may not otherwise get done.

  • Fill your talent pipeline by accessing a highly motivated and skilled talent pool.

  • Decrease recruiting costs. It is more cost effective to hire and intern than a part time employee. It is also less expensive to convert an intern to a full-time employee than to recruit and hire the traditional way.

  • Give back to the community. By hosting interns you help prepare the future workforce and give students practical work experience.

  • Enhance Perspective. Students can offer new and objective viewpoints to stimulate creative problem solving.

Internship programs not only boost your company’s productivity today, they contribute to future success!
